About Chicken Cravings
The reason I created this website was to help people that want to start using chicken in their cooking.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve never cooked before you’ll find information about the basics such as cutting, preparing and storing chicken.
One of the easiest ways to cook chicken would be in a slow cooker. It’s definitely one of my favourite ways all you have to do is dump everything in one pot and and come back 4 – 6 hours later depending on the recipe.
The quickest way would be with an instant pot if you have one. But you don’t need to buy any extra kitchen equipment to get started as you can simply use a frying pan on the stove top or the oven.
I’m not a chef, but I worked in a chicken shop for over 15 years and the recipes are meant to be easy so a busy parents or someone living away from home for the first time can easily do.
If you’re in a time crunch I recommend that you check the meal prep section. Our Sunday meal prep can take upto half the day, but I’m convinced it’s the only way to prepare lunch and dinner meals for a busy family.
So the advice and recipes you will find on this website will be easy to follow and hopefully help you become more confident in cooking with this versatile meat.
About Me
Hey I’m Mike the creator of this website. I spent a lot of time in my parents chicken shop, which they had several over the years.
Their shops were unique in the sense that they sold BBQ rotisserie chickens as well as raw chicken and salads.
Over 15 years working at the shop, everyday after school, during school holidays and even when I had an office job I would still help out.
If I only had a dollar, every time I burnt myself cooking chicken schnitzel in a pan I would be rich!
Thinking about it now. I learnt some good life lessons. Apart from learning how to cook. some very important skills like customer service, a good work ethic and learning the value of money from a young age.
So working at the chicken shop wasn’t too bad, although walking home after work was always interesting. Dogs would just going nuts around me. I’m guessing they could smell the chicken as I approached them. Probably explains my fear of big dogs 😐
